Where I'm going
I don't think I've told any of you. (If anyone is reading this) But I will be leaving in about 50 days or so on my way to San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico. It seems like a really great city and I have really great host parents, I've been in contact with my first host mom for about a month now.

Report Card
So I got my grades this week. Even with Work, Rotary, and everything else going on in my life, I still pulled out straight A's. My lowest was a 91% in Soph English.

After the dance
So we had the last inbound event this past weekend, and I got to go, with a lot of random rides and people... Portland summed up is this: I saw a guy pooping, thats right, POOPING on the street, as people passed by and didn't even do anything. It really is sad the way you have to be so unfriendly in the city. It really made me miss my little hick town.
Anyways, back to the dance. It was a really strange mix of emotions. First off, my best friend I've probably ever had left to go back to France the night of the dance. That was horribly sad. But then there was the kind-of random hookup that happened between me and a certain exotic, older girl. Its not usually like me to do that kind of a thing, and now I remember why. We were kissing when we were separated by one of the adults. I saw my whole exchange flash before my eyes. Worst feeling ever, the guilt and weakness you feel at a moment like that. But I think everything will be fine, the adult told my YEO, but he's just worried about me acting like that in Mexico, so I think that everything is OK. And yes, it was a fun experience, something I rarely do. It was a fun time to come out of my shell like that and to create a lasting memory of my first Turkish girl.

Intro
Hey, my name is Richie Scott. I live in La Grande, Oregon, USA, and I am a Rotary exchange student. I found out that I was going to be leaving the country a little over four months ago, and my life has been crazy ever since. I've met a ton of new friends from all around Oregon to all over the world. I've learned the value of a dollar and taken on so much more responsibility than ever before (if possible).
You see, my dad had a brilliant idea: to let me pay for my entire trip on my own! So since I got the late night phone call informing me that I had been picked up by a nieghboring Rotary club, I have had to save almost every dollar that I made. To make that even worse, I only recieved $400 from my sponsoring club when almost every other outbound got their entire $1,300 registration fee paid for. So that kinda sucks, but hey, I get to live a year away from La Grande, and I am grateful for the oppourtunity I have been given.
So anyways, I had my first job at McDonald's, and it SUCKED. I hated almost every minute of it, and the only thing that kept me there for five months was the huge amount of money that I needed to earn fast. So after a while, I got really sick of coming home covered in grease and being treated like dirt, so I found another job. I now work at Albertson's and get to come home covered in beer, and treated a little better, but I'm still a slave for the man. All around, this job is a lot better, airconditioned, hour-long breaks, and actual human respect. (Plus 10 cents more an hour+15 more on sundays+5 cents more at night+union+health coverage+NO BUTTON UP SHIRTS!!!)
Well, theres the introduction to my life in La Grande, pretty much school, work, sleep, school, work, sleep, school, etc.... But you gots to do what you gots to do.
