Intro

Hey, my name is Richie Scott. I live in La Grande, Oregon, USA, and I am a Rotary exchange student. I found out that I was going to be leaving the country a little over four months ago, and my life has been crazy ever since. I've met a ton of new friends from all around Oregon to all over the world. I've learned the value of a dollar and taken on so much more responsibility than ever before (if possible).
You see, my dad had a brilliant idea: to let me pay for my entire trip on my own! So since I got the late night phone call informing me that I had been picked up by a nieghboring Rotary club, I have had to save almost every dollar that I made. To make that even worse, I only recieved $400 from my sponsoring club when almost every other outbound got their entire $1,300 registration fee paid for. So that kinda sucks, but hey, I get to live a year away from La Grande, and I am grateful for the oppourtunity I have been given.
So anyways, I had my first job at McDonald's, and it SUCKED. I hated almost every minute of it, and the only thing that kept me there for five months was the huge amount of money that I needed to earn fast. So after a while, I got really sick of coming home covered in grease and being treated like dirt, so I found another job. I now work at Albertson's and get to come home covered in beer, and treated a little better, but I'm still a slave for the man. All around, this job is a lot better, airconditioned, hour-long breaks, and actual human respect. (Plus 10 cents more an hour+15 more on sundays+5 cents more at night+union+health coverage+NO BUTTON UP SHIRTS!!!)
Well, theres the introduction to my life in La Grande, pretty much school, work, sleep, school, work, sleep, school, etc.... But you gots to do what you gots to do.
